Marketing Tip of the Day
Right now, there are thousands of writers hoping you'll steal their no-cost articles and reprint their content in your newsletters on your Web site. They'll gladly let you redistribute their articles word for word without paying one red cent for the privilege.
What's the catch? All you have to do is make the author famous and
include a one-paragraph "attribution box." usually the
author's name, a quick blurb about their business, and a Web site
address.
It's a win-win for both you and the author.
In fact, most of my existing customers found out about me when they
read my articles distributed to marketers like you. That's how I
win I gladly exchange my content for distribution. And you win
because you get great content without the cost of hiring a freelance
writer.
The secret to unlimited no-cost
autoresponder content
I recommend using a special Google
command to find articles to use as autoresponder
follow-up. First, open your favorite Web browser, and
visit the search site Google (I've included the search form above for
you to try).
Next, type this exact syntax command in the Google search box:
"reprinted with permission" "[keywords]"
For example:
"reprinted with permission" "sales
letters"
"reprinted with permission" "back pain"
"reprinted with permission" "lower golf scores"
Finally, click the "Google Search" button to
complete your search and find Web pages with the magic phrase,
""reprinted with permission" filtered by the keyword or phrase
you've included.
Right before your eyes, Google displays Web sites embedding no-cost
articles (filtered by your keywords). This is quiteamazing.
I assume the author of the content would love for me to run the same
article on my Web site or autoresponder, too. But just to make sure,
I invest a few minutes and ask the author for permission. I've never
been turned down yet.
Now, you're just 60 seconds away from the easiest autoresponder
message you've ever created.
In the subject line of your autoresponder message type something
like:
FYI
[First Name]
For example:
Wow, that's a subject line that's almost
guaranteed to get every e-mail opened.
Next, put this one-sentence formula into action:
FYI
thought you'd like this article about [topic] that helps you
[juicy benefit]:
For example, an appliance dealer might say:
If you market a travel agency, maybe:
Real estate angents my start their e-mail with:
Next, paste your borrowed content just
below your opening paragraph.
Finally, make sure to include your signature your name,
company, a quick one-liner about you, your Web site address. For
example:
That's all there is to it. Notice you didn't
aggressively pitch your product
a simple casual mention under
you need. Save your more aggressive pitches for another time.
When you send a simple FYI to your autoresponder list, you're likely
to be rewarded with at least a visit to your Web site and perhaps a
purchase your products or services.
